The Reading and Writing Institute provides two valuable services to the public Psychoedicational Evaluation and Educational Therapy. The goal of which are to create independent literate individuals who are reading and writing at their potential.

These evaluations are designed to determine if individuals are struggling readers and writers (dyslexic and or dysgraphic), if they are gifted readers and writers (eulexic and eugraphic), or somewhere in between. In addition to determining where the individual is in their reading and writing skills we will also uncover the phonological and or cognitive causes of any deficits. This information is critical because it is critical to understand the root cause of a condition to efficiently and effectively remediate it.

Once the specifics of each individual are determined a “client specific” therapy program can be put in place. Building on the clients strengths to address their weaknesses this Individualized program is implemented in 1 two-hour in clinic therapy session per week combined with consistent home reinforcement (not teaching). This reinforced therapy will ultimately treat the phonological causes and effects as well as the secondary deficits of the client’s condition. Re-evaluations will be provided as part of therapy to monitor progress in all areas.
